AdvertisementMindy Wight, CEO of the Squamish development group building Sen̓áḵw, called it "the creation of a modern Squamish village" in an interview with Business Insider. Canada's federal auditor general recently condemned a "distressing and persistent pattern of failure" by federal programs designed to support First Nations housing and infrastructure, among other services. The housing projects aren't the only major developments underway on indigenous land in Canada. There are no housing or infrastructure developments on US tribal land that match the scale of the First Nations projects in Canada. While some Native American tribes have spearheaded significant housing projects, most indigenous-owned land in the US isn't in the most valuable housing markets.

Gibson sees the stock rerating thanks to the Japanese company's new theme park venture in Florida, which is expected to bring in more revenue. Additionally, the launch of Nintendo's next-generation device later this year could result in a migration of its existing 120 million users from the current Switch console.

Gibson, a senior research analyst at financial services firm MST Marquee, has set a price target of 11,000 Japanese yen ($74) for Nintendo's stock. This represents a 31% upside over the current price. He told the investment bank's clients that Nintendo could delay the Switch 2 launch if the momentum for the current console remains strong. The analyst has rated Nintendo a buy but set a conservative price target of 8,400 yen. However, if the new console fails to gain traction with consumers, Gibson cautioned that Nintendo's stock is likely to miss his price target.

For the new company's first hire, GymBird is choosing one lucky person to walk 10,000 steps in one day for $10,000, according to its site. Accepting the offer requires the CSO to train for a month until they feel comfortable walking 10,000 steps in a single day. "By the last day of the month, they must walk the full 10,000 steps within a 24-hour period," GymBird wrote in its job offering. Just under 10,000 steps each day (9,800) can lower risk of dementia by 50%, according to two studies published in JAMA Neurology and JAMA Internal Medicine last year. For every 2,000 steps you walk daily, you can reduce your risk of cancer, heart disease and premature death by 10%, peaking at 10,000 steps, the research shows.

SYDNEY, March 2 (Reuters) - Retail theft has hit record levels in Australia, government statistics show, putting pressure on grocery giants Woolworths Group Ltd (WOW.AX) and Coles Group Ltd (COL.AX) that are already struggling with soaring supply costs and freight blockages. Queensland, Australia's third-largest state, had the highest monthly rate of shop stealing on record this January, according to publicly available police data. Neither state's data specified which retailers reported theft. That may impact profit at Woolworths and Coles, which together ring up two-thirds of Australian grocery sales and noted rising store theft in trading updates last month. Supermarkets refer to goods lost to theft, expiry or payment error as stock losses.
